  1. Live Pilot

Launched 3 June 2026. CSOP keeps the official register off-chain with the trustee and registrar. CSOP has not named the chain or published assets for the class; a key facts statement naming the blockchain would settle the ledger.

What was announced

On 3 June 2026 CSOP Asset Management launched an unlisted tokenised class of the CSOP Hong Kong Dollar Money Market ETF (3053.HK), its first tokenised fund. HSBC is tokenisation agent, trustee and registrar; CSOP said this was the first time HSBC had provided full digital asset services for a Hong Kong money market fund. CSOP signed a memorandum with OSL under which OSL’s licensed virtual asset trading platform will, for six months, be the exclusive platform onboarding the tokenised class. CSOP aims the class at holders of virtual assets who want a Hong Kong dollar yield.

How it works

The fund invests in short-term Hong Kong dollar deposits and money market instruments. CSOP’s explainer on the class says the trustee and registrar keep the official register off-chain and the blockchain holds a digital representation, so legal is twin. Subscriptions and redemptions go only through eligible distributors, which mint and burn tokens held by a token custodian, and settle in cash, so settlement is offchain.

Neither the release nor the explainer names the blockchain, so ledger is unknown. The release does not say whether retail investors can subscribe through OSL, so access takes the less open value, whitelisted.

Record so far

The class launched in June with one distributor. No assets or token supply have been published, so scale is single and the stage pilot. The launch is under twelve months old, so the status is live.

The Regulatory Wire item on the SFC’s April 2026 circulars is relevant: OSL could list the class for secondary trading under those rules.

What to watch

OSL’s exclusivity ends around early December 2026; a second distributor would follow. A key facts statement or contract address naming the chain, published assets for the class, or secondary trading on OSL would settle ledger and scale.
